NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK CELEBRATION (14-21 Nov 2015)

Indian Library Association declared 14 November as National Library Day. Since 1968, 14-21 Nov has been celebrated as National Library week all over India and various programs are organized to let the public know about the libraries.

In keeping the tradition and in honor the National Library Week, Our Vidyalaya Library celebrated the National Library Week. Various Programmes were conducted  in connected with celebration.

Monday 16 Nov 2015

The celebration began on 16 November, as 14 and 15 November were holiday. The program started with the speech by the Librarian, Ms. Monika Manav on the topic creating awareness about the library and its importance. Ms. Garima Arora, Officiating Incharge (A.S.Meena Principal was on official duty) invited for the inauguration. Ms. Garima Arora gave all the best wishes for the initiative taken by the library and extended his full support and guidance for the whole events.

Event of the day : Book Review Competition 

The Book Review Competition started in the morning at 8: 30 a.m. after the morning assembly. Students from classes VI-XII participated in it. The response of all the students was appreciable.

Event of the day : Book Exhibition and Tour to the Library ( Primary Section)

Book Exhibition of the reference sources and various periodicals started in the morning 8:30 a.m. The Headmistress, Mrs. Ashu Kapoor invited to join the event and gave her best wishes. All the students from class I-V visited the library one by one. Students of primary classes got the exposure of various periodicals (magazines) according to their age group like Champak, Children’s Worlds etc. Students of the classes IV-V also given the oppouriturity to seat and read the magazines individually.

Event of the day:  Essay Writing Competition

The Competition started at 8:30 a.m. after the morning assembly in the library. The topic of the essay writing was Importance of library / books. The Competition was in bilingual language (Hindi and English) from class VI- XII.

Event of the day: Slogan Writing Competition 

The Competition started at its scheduled time 8:30 a.m. after the morning assembly in the library. The topic of the competition was Importance of Library / Books. Slogan charts prepared by students were appreciable.

Declaration of the Results

All the results of the whole event announced in the morning assembly by the  librarian, Ms Monika Manav. The Headmistress, Mrs. Ashu Kapoor called up on the stage to congratulate all the winners and to speak a few words for the success of the celebration.

The support of the staff and participation of the students for the entire programme was wonderful.
